The Pitti Palace and the Boboli Gardens, Florence – DO

June 6, 2015

The Pitti Palace may not be the most stunning palace from the outside, which very much kept its original military bearing, but it boasts six museums of which the Appartamenti Reali shows the Medici’s original private quarters and is quite spectacular.

The Palace’s gardens – the Boboli Gardens – are perfect if you want to escape the tourist hordes and hectic city life.  Stroll through the stunning grounds on a sunny afternoon, and rest in the shade while admiring the beautiful views of Florence.  While the 10EUR entrance fee is not cheap (this is Florence after all), it is definitely worth it.  Do be warned that bringing in picnics and bottles of rose isn’t really an option, you’ll get stopped by the cashier at the entrance (trust me, we’ve tried).
