Through a coeliac friend I recently heard about The Detox Kitchen, a Deli which offers healthy and gluten free breakfasts, lunches and snacks. Think quinoa salads, salmon steaks, stuffed aubergines and a whole array of delightful gluten free muffins, brownies and flapjacks.
I tried their Deli in the ‘Food Market’ on the fifth floor of the Knightsbridge Harvey Nichols. I’d never been to the Food Market there, which was heaving on a Saturday lunch time (naturally). Among Burger & Lobster and Bubbleology you will find The Detox Kitchen tucked away.
I only had time to grab a gluten free banana muffin which was absolutely delicious despite the lack of gluten, dairy and wheat.
Their Deli which has recently opened in Soho on kingley street is apparently much bigger and a stand alone entity. You can expect more seating and a better vibe, which I felt the Harvey Nichols one lacked, being drowned out by the rest of the food court. But the food all looks amazing:
I am now definitely temped to try their Soho branch out for one of their salads and a beetroot brownies.
Good news for those who prefer to eat at home – what the Detox Kitchen are really all about it home delivery of healthy meals – be it breakfast, lunch or dinner. Check out their How it works page for more information.
