Something you have to eat while in Spain is churros – a fried doughy delightfulness which is best eaten dipped in thick ‘chocolate soup’.
The best place to experience this is at Chocolateria San Gines – it has been around since the late 19th century and will not disappoint. One thing to note is that the service is not good, nor very pleasant, so just ignore that. Many Spaniards have churros for breakfast so if you’re feeling brave, it’s worth trying it as your first meal of the day. Otherwise it’s delicious as a mid-afternoon treat.
